Nottingham brewery closes, blaming ‘inept’ Government

The brewery behind a Beeston micropub is to close down.

Totally Brewed, which owns the Totally Tapped pub in Beeston, has made the “tough” decision to close after “massive” increases in costs which it puts down to Brexit, the war in Ukraine and an “inept” government.

The company, whose brewery was on Meadow Lane, said in a statement: “The goalposts have shifted beyond our means. We’ve also taken a few hits from pubs and bottle shops closing down due to the same cost implications.”

Totally Brewed says its micropub in Beeston is “doing brilliantly” and will continue to trade. It will exchange its Totally Brewed beers for drinks from other local breweries.

The statement added: “We’ve had a great time over the last 10 years Brewing nearly 1,000 batches of beer. The staff have been incredible. Their commitment and quality of work has been excellent and not a fair reflection of the position we have found ourselves in.

“It’s been a blast. We’ve made great friends along the way and had incredible support from so many people. We wouldn’t have made it this far without you guys.”
