Swoop sees cloud software provider eye substantial growth

Renato Software, the Nottinghamshire provider of safeguarding and class monitoring software solutions, has snapped up Leicester-based tech firm Improve Productions for an undisclosed sum.

Renato, which trades as Senso.cloud, provides cloud software for schools and global companies. It is eyeing substantial growth after acquiring Improve, which delivers online training for SMEs.

Improve was previously known as Peritus Productions.

Two members of the Leicester firm’s leadership team, Sam Merrall and Steve Walker, have joined Renato as a result of the deal. Neither brand’s existing customers will be affected.

Michael Payne, drector of operations at Renato Software, said: “We are delighted to have acquired Improve Productions Ltd. We have been working with Peritus productions Ltd – now Improve Productions Ltd – for a while and this partnership allowed us to understand their platform in depth.

“It made sense to work much closer by acquiring the company, enabling us to add real value to our existing customers and to continue to grow exponentially.”

Steve Walker, a director at Improve, added: “This acquisition will enable substantial growth for Improve Productions Ltd as Renato come with a wealth of experience, some new routes to market and a team of marketing and sales staff to support the business and drive it forward. I am really looking forward to being part of this journey.”

Knights advised Edwalton-based Renato on the deal.

Rachel Bennett, partner at Knights, said: “This is a great move for Senso, and we were really pleased to help them make sure everything is a good fit for their long-term plans.”

Payne added: “It was great to work with Knights on this deal and they enabled us to make this a really smooth process.”
