Nottingham street lighting specialist flips switch on expansion

Nottingham-based street lighting contractor McCann has expanded with the opening of a Yorkshire base.

McCann delivers everyting from civil engineering and multi-utilities services, to highways, professional services and lighting design and installation.

However, the business has established itself as a lighting designer and installer specialist, with projects including heritage lighting renovations and energy-saving LED street lighting upgrades.

McCann is currently working across a number of term maintenance lighting contracts, including North and North East Lincolnshire, Sandwell and the London Borough of Hillingdon – while supporting Bury Council with LED upgrades and delivering temporary lighting design services to the government’s HS2 project.

Now, the business has taken the decision to open a standalone lighting design office in Bradford, West Yorkshire, while expanding its team with the addition of seasoned designer, Rachel O’Connell.

O’Connell began her street lighting career in 2007 after securing a role with SSE – before gaining the necessary qualifications to become a qualified lighting designer while working across a range of PFI contracts for the national energy provider.
