Private equity firm prepares £4bn bid for Center Parcs

A £4bn private equity bid to take over Nottinghamshire-headquartered Center Parcs could be tabled by the end of the month.

CVC Capital Partners is expected to show its intent to swoop for Center Parcs’ six UK and Ireland sites, according to reports from Sky News.

CVC joins other interested parties, says Sky News, including Antin and previous owner Blackstone.

In May, Center Parcs was put up for sale with a £5bn price tag.

Center Parcs’ private equity firm owner, Brookfield, bought the company in 2015 for around £2.4bn – but is looking to offload its asset.

CVC backs the Six Nations rugby championship and is one of the world’s biggest private equity operators.
