Self-storage giant opens 82,000 sq ft site at Teal Park

The UK’s largest independent self-storage firm has opened its first facility in Nottinghamshire – its sixth in the Midlands and the eighth since 2016.

Storage Giant opened its doors at Teal Park, Netherfield last week, offering self-storage and office space for individuals, start-ups and small businesses and creating four local jobs.

Dozens of additional jobs could be created at the 82,000 sq ft site when businesses take up space in its office and commercial units.

The huge premises consists of 1,100 self-storage units and 19 flexi-office suites.

Storage Giant CEO and founder Simon Williams said: “We are excited to open our new facility in Nottingham, offering storage and office space to local individuals and businesses. This is our sixth store in the Midlands and represents our ambitious expansion plans to open more sites across the region including Stoke-on-Trent, Willenhall, Kidderminster and Witney.

“Not only does the new store opening represent a success for Storage Giant’s expansion plans, but it also highlights Nottinghamshire’s continued growth and development as an incubation hub for small businesses.”

He added: “We are particularly proud to provide new office spaces for SMEs as they are the beating heart of the British economy, and as flexible working remains popular, we hope to see many more businesses opening satellite sites and allowing team members to work near home in Nottingham.

“We hope our story at Storage Giant – having grown from one to 14 sites since 2007 – can inspire local entrepreneurs to achieve their business goals even in the face of uncertainty.”
