Magpies begin search for new CEO

Notts County FC has begun the search for its next CEO following much-loved boss Jason Turner’s unexpected passing earlier this year.

The venerable football club has tasked global recruitment specialist Forsyth Barnes with finding a suitable candidate for the position, whom the club says “must enhance the team’s competitive edge in a rapidly evolving sports market.” The recruiter’s largest office is based in the city, and its sports division has previously helped to facilitate successful appointments for the likes of Real Madrid, Juventus and Manchester United.

The Magpies – the world’s oldest professional football club – recently returned to the football league after a four-year absence.

Turner passed away suddenly at the age of 50 last March. He joined the club in 2016 having previously worked for Bath City, Newport County, Plymouth Argyle and Cardiff City.

Notts County described him as an “outstanding” CEO.

A statement issued by Turner’s mother, Jen, and father David, read: “Words cannot describe our sadness following the loss of our beloved son, Jason.

“We know this feeling will be shared by all of his colleagues and his many, many friends.

“While we come to terms with this news, we ask for our family’s privacy to be respected.”
