Nottingham Forest FC has revealed it has signed a multi-year kit deal with iconic sportswear brand adidas – an agreement which will entail a “huge renovation” of its official megastore.

The Reds’ men’s and women’s first teams and its academy side will all sport the famous three stripes over the coming seasons after the 2023/24 adidas home kit is unveiled on Thursday 13 July.

adidas will also manufacture all of Forest’s technical apparel.

The megastore will reopen at the City Ground on Friday 14 July to coincide with the unveiling of the club’s new away kit.

The news will please the more nostalgic elements of Forest’s fanbase, not least because adidas manufactured the club’s shirts when Brian Clough led the team to European Cup glory in 1979 and 1980.

adidas also produced the team’s kits between 2013 and 2018.

Forest chairman Nicholas Randall KC said: “We are delighted to announce adidas as our new official kit partner.

“adidas is a highly respected global brand with a special relationship with Nottingham Forest arising from the iconic shirts forever associated with our European Cup successes.

“We now look forward to working together again with the aim of writing a new story of achievement for the current generation of our supporters.”

Chris Walsh, VP brand at adidas North Europe, said: “Nottingham Forest has an incredibly rich history in football, and it is an exciting prospect for adidas to partner with the club for the foreseeable future.

“adidas worked with the club during some of its most successful times, including the club’s two European Cup wins in 1979 and 1980.

“We now look forward to further success with the club and its passionate fans in the coming years.”

Financial details of the deal have not been disclosed.
