Contractor named for Nottingham’s Castle Meadow Campus development

Nottingham-based Henry Brothers Construction has been selected by the University of Nottingham to assist in the development of its Castle Meadow Campus (CMC) in the city centre.

The project involves the refurbishment and transformation of two out of the seven buildings on the 3.75 hectare site.

The university’s vision for the castle meadow campus is to create an enterprise-focused area, situated at the base of Nottingham castle on castle meadow Road, formerly occupied by HMRC.

Henry Brothers Construction have been given the task of remodelling buildings D and F on the campus site, with building D set to be completed later this year. This building will be utilised for long-term leases for the universities industry partners, including leading global accountancy firm KPMG.

Meanwhile, building F is also intended to accommodate industry partners, particularly innovative spin outs, start-ups and scale ups on flexible licenses. Building F will feature collaborative spaces, hot-desking areas, meeting rooms and meeting rooms, with the refurbishment scheduled for completion in early 2024.

Ian Taylor, managing director of Henry Brothers Construction, said: “Henry Brothers has extensive experience with universities across the Midlands to improve their facilities. This is our first contract with the University of Nottingham, and we are really looking forward to getting on site in our home city to deliver some of the building work at castle meadow campus.”
