Logistics firm collapses into administration
A Burton logistics firm has fallen into administration after weeks of troubled trading.
Freight Management European, which trades as AMCO Logistics and was set up in 1998, has appointed Currie Young to look after the day-to-day running of the firm.
The move comes after AMCO posted a second notice of intention (NOI) to appoint administrators on August 1.
According to its website, AMCO began its life supplying the F1 and automotive industry with just-in-time deliveries.
Now, the company’s fleet includes vehicles including small express vans, tail lifts vehicles and larger lorries.
The firm also has a warehouse in Derby. In January 2021, AMCO announced the opening of a new 17,000 sq ft warehouse in Marchington, Staffordshire.
In its latest available accounts, made up to the end of 2021, the firm employed 37 people.
