Leicestershire pub set to be replaced by homes following demolition

Leicestershire pub, The Masons Arms will be torn down to create 11 new homes.
The pub located on Church Street was closed down permanently in 2018. Although initially put up for sale, a lack of interest resulted in R3Design Developments, representing KMG Partnership, proposing housing plans that ultimately led to the decision to demolish the pub.
Reports concluded that the new housing wouldn’t cause problems like overshadowing or being too imposing for neighbours. R3Design assured that their plans are sustainable, as basic services are accessible both in Donisthorpe and nearby villages.
This marks the second recent plan in North West Leicestershire involving a former pub. Another proposal aims to transform the former Storey Arms in Osgathorpe into a single home, with NWLDC currently reviewing the application.
