Land deal to bring 350 homes to Market Harborough
Persimmon Homes has completed a land deal that will see a major new housing development come to Market Harborough.
The Hawthorns will deliver 350 new homes made up of 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-bed properties. Some 128 of these will be taken on by a local housing association providing a mix of rented and shared ownership properties and an additional 37 are being developed under the Charles Church brand to be completed in 2025.
Persimmon has agreed a £5.7m Section 106 agreement, which includes over £2.1m towards local education, £1.7m towards the enhancement of Market Harborough town centre and over £472,000 towards outdoor sports improvements.
Zac Hurst, managing director for Persimmon Homes Midlands said: “This is a hugely exciting development that will not only generate significant job opportunities throughout the lifespan of the project, but will also leave lasting community benefits.”
Claire Dearsley, sales director added: “The Hawthorns will provide 350 high quality homes helping address the need for new quality housing whilst at the same time making important contributions to local services and infrastructure.
A range of schemes will be available to assist buyers including part exchange, help with deposits and monthly mortgage payments to various upgrades to the property.”
