Plans unveiled for a new leisure complex in Leicestershire

A plan to bring a new bowling alley, a restaurant and flats to Leicestershire is set to be approved.

The leisure complex, off Belvoir Road in Coalville, is part of the wider regeneration of the town.

Gylo, the owners of Coalville’s Belvior shopping centre put forward the proposals, which include 28 new studio apartments alongside the bowling alley and restaurant.

The planning application was initially submitted in May 2022 but is now only going to the North West Leicestershire District Council’s planning committee for approval.

The meeting on Tuesday (November 7), is expected to see the application approved as long as a variety of conditions are met, as well as the signing of a section 106 agreement.

“The application proposal will deliver a range of benefits for the residents of Coalville and the surrounding areas. These benefits include the provision of additional leisure (including food and drink) facilities to serve the users of Coalville town centre and to enhance local consumer choice, the introduction of 28 new residential studio apartments and the creation of new jobs and staff training/development opportunities.”
