Yoga studio doubles its team despite pandemic setback

A Burbage yoga studio which faced closure during the pandemic has rebounded by doubling its teaching team.

Yoga Loft in Leicestershire added eight new instructors, including two international senior yoga teachers and six experienced guest teachers from across the UK.

The expansion allows the studio, located in a former hosiery factory, to offer diverse workshops throughout the year, focusing on balance, mental health, and addressing post-COVID anxiety and daily life stresses.

To further support clients, the studio also hired a second in-house physiotherapist, aiding in injury recovery and managing chronic conditions alongside yoga, reducing the strain on NHS services.

Owner, Kat Jennings said: “More than 60% of adults say anxiety interferes with their daily lives, according to the Mental Health Foundation, and with the impact of Covid-19, social media and now the cost of living crisis, it’s no surprise more people are looking to yoga to improve their health and wellbeing,” she said.

“I can’t tell you how amazing it is to finally bounce back from the pandemic over the past year and be in the position to grow our team significantly. To be able to attract international teachers is fantastic for our clients and a huge thing for our studio.”
