Planning bosses give thumbs up to new office-to-student accommodation scheme

A former office block in Nottingham city centre is set to be turned into student accommodation after the council’s planning bosses tipped the scheme for approval.

Clinton View Limited looks set to be granted planning permission for the scheme at 8 Clinton Terrace – with the council’s planning committee set to vote on the scheme on Wednesday (November 22); the first time it will have sat since July.

The development would include 15 apartments made up of one two-bed flat and 14 one-bed.

The 3,000 sq ft 8 Clinton Terrace was bought by Clinton View at the end of 2021 and the planning for the site has been through several iterations.

The scheme has come up against significant opposition from Nottingham Civic Society, which said: “The current scheme still fails to preserve or enhance the character of either conservation area, as such should not be supported.
