Forest unveil plans for 500-capacity fan zone
Nottingham Forest have revealed plans to build a 500-capacity fan zone at their City Ground home.
The fan zone is in response to a Premier League drive to make football family friendly. The plans include changing part of the car park behind the Brian Clough stand, and would include three shipping containers serving food and drink – and a canopied area.
The site will also include portable toilets and access for disabled fans.
A planning statement reads: “The application proposed provides a safe and welcoming environment for the supporters of Nottingham Forest Football Club and caters to a mixed demographic of fans.
“The proposal responds to the Club’s need to allocate a space for supporters on match days and to provide them with food & beverage offers, as well as merchandise and family activities.
“This also allows the ability of the Club to increase their commercial trading on match days and met the Premier League standard in fan engagement and inclusively.”
The move comes shortly after reports suggested that Forest could increase the capacity of the City Ground home by building temporary seating on top of shipping containers.
