Plans revealed to turn former city factory into student flats

How Damad House could look

Plans to turn a disused mill building in the New Basford area of Nottingham into a 136-bedroom student accommodation scheme have been revealed.

Dave Landa of JGM Limited has submitted the plans for 490 Radford Road. They outline redeveloping part of the existing building, while demolishing and rebuilding other sections, to create Damad House.

The scheme, which would host 71 apartments, is being designed by Nottingham-based DL Design Studio.

Damad House would also include cycle storage, a gym, recreation rooms and additional hireable storage space.

A statement accompanying the planning application says: “The aspiration for the project is to provide high quality living designed to contribute to the local urban context by introducing a scheme that has a positive impact and enhances the area.”
