On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Justine Osborne – Catherine Billington – Tim Smith – Dan Thomas

WBR Group (WBR), the Leicester provider of SSAS services and tax experts, has launched its trustee consultant service with the appointment of three seasoned trustee consultants.

Justine Osborne, Catherine Billington and Dan Thomas, bring a wealth of experience and expertise to WBR.

Osborne joins WBR from Mattioli Woods and prior to that was at Brown Shipley and Hurley Partners. She has over 20 years of experience in SSAS administration and face-to-face client contact, with specialist knowledge in commercial property investments.

Billington spent over 25 years at Mattioli Woods, where she specialised in SIPP and SSAS.

Thomas has over 20 years experience at Rowanmoor prior to WBR Group, he has experience looking after major institutional SSAS providers and in assisting with complex pension planning issues.

Pepperells Solicitors, which has East Midlands offices in Grimsby and Lincoln, has appointed a new head of department, Nichola Skayman.

She will be leading the firm’s team addressing the needs of individuals affected by domestic abuse and private law children matters.

Kevin Drew and Jayne Sheehan

Derby-based accountancy firm, Ascentant Accountancy, has appointed Jayne Sheehan in a newly-created role as practice manager.

Sheehan will manage the operational needs of the business day-to-day, having joined from Bhatia Best Solicitors.

Director, Kevin Drew, said: “We are really pleased to have Jayne onboard at this crucial period in our growth; 2023 saw us move to a new office to accommodate our growing team, launch our second office and increase our headcount, service lines and client base.
