On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Engineering consultancy Rodgers Leask has appointed a new head of geo-environmental engineering for its Nottingham office.

Associate director Darcy Kitson-Boyce joins Rodgers Leask a little over two years since the Nottingham office opened its doors.

With more than 12 years’ experience on complex construction projects, Kitson-Boyce says he joins the business with his own ethos to bring a pragmatic approach to geo-environmental engineering and to help clients understand and manage ground-related risks.

He said: “Joining a well-respected business like Rodgers Leask is always going to be a moment of pride, but joining at such an important time makes it even more exciting. Across the next 12 months, we anticipate the start of multiple large projects in the local area, presenting more opportunity for us to offer our support and expert guidance on all ground-engineering matters.”

Connor Ball-Wood

Timms Solicitors have appointed Connor Ball-Wood as a conveyancing solicitor in its property team.

Ball-Wood joined Timms’ trainee solicitor programme in January 2022 and has had seats in the firm’s Family, Wills & Probate and Conveyancing teams across all offices in Derby, Burton, Swadlincote and Ashby where he will now be based.

Timms partner and the firm’s training principal, Adrian Rose, said: “We remain firmly committed to achieving growth through home-grown talent and ensuring that young professionals have all the support, training and qualifications that they need for their own career development and to achieve the high standards of work that we expect at Timms.

“Connor has shown great skill and determination throughout his training programme and we are delighted that he has joined our property team now as a qualified solicitor.”

Dan Hancox

Burton-based Russell Roof Tiles has created a new role of corporate sustainability and development director.

Dan Hancox who has been at the firm for 14 years – most recently as business support manager takes on the new position, helping lead and shape RRT’s sustainability strategy which has been central to the business for more than 10 years.

He said: “It’s an honour to be moving into this new role. I’m looking forward to using this opportunity to drive Russell Roof Tiles towards a more sustainable future.”

Andrew Hayward, managing director at Russell Roof Tiles, said: “Over the last decade Dan has shown real commitment and dedication to the company and his contribution to the business and the team is second to none. Although this is a new position for our company, it’s certainly not a new area of focus for us. The knowledge and experience that he’s already gained puts him in the perfect position to take on the responsibility of our corporate sustainability and development director and help to strengthen our sustainability goals for the future.”
