Forest charged by Premier League over breaking spending rules

Nottingham Forest have been charged by the Premier League with breaching spending rules.
A statement from The Reds said: “Nottingham Forest acknowledges the statement from the Premier League confirming that the club has today been charged with a breach of the league’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
“The club intends to continue to cooperate fully with the Premier League on this matter and are confident of a speedy and fair resolution.”
Under the rules, Premier League Clubs can make a rolling loss of £105m over three seasons. Forest would be limited to losses of £61m – £13m for 2020/21 and 2021/22 seasons when they were in Sky Bet Championship, plus £35m for last season.
Although Forest are thought to have prepared a strong defence case, if they are found guilty of breaking the rules, a fine or points deduction will follow.
