Thai street food restaurant to take a bite out of Nottingham

A Canadian-headquartered Thai street food restaurant and food-on-the-go outlet is set to open a Nottingham venue.

Thaï Express, which opened in Canada 10 years ago has 200 stores worldwide, including one in Leicester.

Now, according to hospitality title Propel, Thaï Express is set to launch in Nottingham.

The location of the venue hasn’t been disclosed, but it is part of a planned UK expansion outside of London and into the Midlands with a franchise model.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Since our UK launch, we have been working tirelessly to ensure we have the platform for growth.

“50% of revenue is driven by loyal fans and repeat customers and this continues to drive our innovation and development.

“In 2021, we opened the world’s first Thai Express Kitchen, moving the brand into the fast-casual space, offering a full-service Thai dining concept.

“We have new sites opening in Nottingham, Coventry, Sutton Coldfield and Glasgow as we look to become the go-to national Thai brand and continue our UK expansion. We are looking for multi-unit and area development partners with the capabilities to open a minimum of three to five units; they must be able to finance the first two units.”
