On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Emma Capper

Law firm Browne Jacobson has promoted partner Emma Capper as the firm’s new firm-wide head of employment.

Capper joined the employment team in Browne Jacobson’s Birmingham office in 2023 and has over 20 years of experience spanning both contentious and non-contentious employment advice, across a range of sectors.

In her new broader role, Capper will oversee the 60-strong employment team spanning Browne Jacobson’s seven offices.

Capper said: “I am thrilled to take up the role as practice head across the firm and I look forward to spearheading the growth of the employment practice even further.”

Tim Lucas

Cambridge & Counties Bank has appointed Tim Lucas to the newly-created role of head of product & proposition.

Reporting to the bank’s chief commercial officer, Sarah Barker, he will work alongside the leaders of the bank’s real estate finance, asset finance and marketing departments.

Lucas was most recently head of product at HSBC responsible for leading a large product team overseeing a suite of banking products across a number of brands. Prior to that, he was responsible for the existing customer management of the retail portfolio at HSBC UK.

Sarah Barker, chief commercial officer at Cambridge & Counties Bank, said: “We’re delighted to welcome someone of Tim’s calibre and exceptional experience to the senior team. He will play a central role in our strategy to be the ‘bank of choice’ for the UK’s SMEs and professional property investors.”
