Freight operator says it has ‘won from Brexit’ after £5m investment

A freight operator with a substantial presence in Nottingham has told TheBusinessDesk.com that it has “won from Brexit” after returning to offering guaranteed pre-Brexit delivery times across Europe.

Europa Road is the European road freight division of the UK’s largest independent operator Europa Worldwide Group.

Its Nottingham team employs around 35 team members who work closely with colleagues at its network of sales branches across the UK, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland to manage the shipments of goods into the company’s 1Hub in Dartford.

Adrian Redmile, branch and sales director at Europa Worldwide Group, puts the success of the company down to a £5m investment in its Europa Flow product.

Redmile said: “In support of our Midlands exporters, who have been struggling to grapple with delays on time-critical consignments over the past few years, we’re delighted to have returned to offering pre-Brexit delivery times.

“We’re able to provide these much-reduced shipment times because of our investment in Europa Flow, a pioneering DDP (delivered duty paid) product which the company was first to market with and which offered businesses a customs solution to post Brexit transit delays.

“Furthermore, our operations, as well as using the best network in Europe, means we have the volume of consignments needed to offer daily departures to most European countries.

“Our investment in Europa Flow means we’ve won from Brexit.”

Europa Road has been in operation since 1966. It was acquired in 2013 by Nottinghamshire businessman Andrew Baxter who is the CEO and lives near Retford. His career has always been in transport and logistics, and he was previously part of the Baxter family business, The RH Group, which was sold to Swiss transport giant Kuehne + Nagel in 2011.

These days, Europa Road mainly works with companies who are shipping finished good as he says there is a higher profit margin for these business selling abroad.

Europa is currently running transit times to Hungary in 4.1 days, Italy in 3.9 days, Denmark in 3.5 days and Germany in 3.1 days. Its no quibble Money Back Guarantee is available on all European freight options – groupage, part and full loads, and dedicated vans.

Year on year, Europa Road has reported a 15% increase in the volume of European road freight and a record 40,000 consignments per month pass through the terminal.

Redmile said: “We’re taking the gamble out of European freight – that’s why our customers are happy to return to us time and time again.”
