Up to 50 jobs at risk at Leicestershire haulage firm

A 100-year-old trucking company in Leicestershire is on the brink of administration, TheBusinessDesk.com can reveal.

CC & RJ Emerson specialises in waste and recycling transportation, including scrap metal as well as aggregate materials.

The Coalville-based has filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators, a court process which gives the company 10 days’ protection from creditor action as it seeks to find a solution to its financial problems.

The family-run haulage firm employed around 50 people and operates a fleet with 35 tractor units, five rigid 8-wheelers, and 40 trailers.

In February James Emerson transferred his shareholding to Emerson’s managing director Daniel Emerson. Last week, Kjell-Ove Edstrom stood down as a director.

TheBusinessDesk.com has approached the company for comment.
