Curtains up for Chord Consult at Hot Property 2024

With Nottingham Hot Property 2024 on the horizon, we caught up with Harry Stannard, senior mechanical design engineer at returning NHP sponsor Chord Consult, about the company’s continued support for the event, along with some of his favourite memories from previous years.

How many years have you supported/attended Hot Property?

As a company, Chord Consult have been supporting Nottingham Hot Property since our first day of business a couple of years ago, following long standing support and attendance in our past lives.

Why is Hot Property so important to you? Why did you want to sponsor the event?

Hot Property is such a great event, showcasing the amazing talents the construction industry has to offer. Bringing familiar faces together, both on and off stage, the event is also certainly the networking highlight of the year.

Aside from all of this, the reason we sponsor the event is because this event never fails to generate and donate significant amounts of well-needed funds to brilliant charities within the East Midlands, who do such fantastic work.

What’s your favourite Hot Property memory or performance from over the years and why?

It’s so hard to narrow this down as I have so many personally. Matt Hutton from Bond Bryan Architects is always someone I’m keen to see, as his performances never disappoint, and I would have to say his performance of The Darkness sticks out the most.

Then again, I could name any of over 20 performances I remember hugely enjoying, with such a wide range of reasons why. Lots of talent on show!

Hot Property has been going now since 2004. What were you doing 20 years ago, and can you share a picture from that time of your life?

Wow, 20 years, that’s an incredibly long time. What an achievement!

20 years ago, I would have been 10 (which will probably surprise a few people with my bald head and beer belly)

Back when I was 10, I was training in the garden every night with hopes of being a professional footballer whilst being known as “tubbs” by my older brothers and my dad, and much like Hot Property, this is still going strong!

What are you looking forward to most about Hot Property this year?

I think the change of venue is exciting! Obviously, a lot of great times have been had in PRYZM over the years, but Binks Yard offers an exciting new atmosphere and hopefully plenty of evening sunshine to bring a new feel to the event for its 20th birthday.

Can you give us a sneaky clue about what we can expect from your performance this year?

Well, in previous years I’ve been known as the resident hip hop artist and having gone from “street” to backstreet boys. I think this year’s will be a little different from any of my previous performances. From boy band to big band – We hope!

What would you say to someone thinking of performing this year?

Get yourselves there, and if you have any musical talents (or not so much), let someone know and get yourself involved. It’s great fun!
