On the move: the latest East Midlands hires

Dean Kemp

Burton-based Russell Roof Tiles has created a new role, technical specification manager, which has been filled by Dean Kemp.

Kemp, who has had a longstanding career in sales across many sectors, will be overseeing the south-east, which is still a relatively new target region for the company.

His main responsibility will be to apply technical excellence to all levels of the business, developing Russell Roof Tiles’ presence and providing support for local authorities, housing associations, specifiers and main contractors.

He said: “Joining Russell Roof Tiles has given me the opportunity to put my expertise to use. I’ve been aware of Russell Roof Tiles and their reputation for some time as they are fast becoming a prominent name in the roofing industry and I’m eager to help build this presence.”

Andrew Hayward, managing director at Russell Roof Tiles, said: “Dean’s knowledge and insights will be instrumental in expanding Russell Roof Tiles’ profile, particularly among our public sector clients. His role will enable him to collaborate more closely with architects, local authorities, and housing associations to drive growth for the business and deliver comprehensive training programs. Dean will be a great asset to our growing team and we’re confident that his skillset will further enhance our customer service.”

Specialist recruiter Innovate Freight Talent has expanded its team with a recent graduate, helping to bring the younger generation into logistics.

She said: “Joining the team has allowed me to experience first hand how wide-reaching the logistics sector is and its impact on how the country operates. It’s been incredibly interesting to see the breadth of the industry and just how much it impacts our daily lives.

“I’d never considered a career in logistics before joining Innovate Freight Talent, and since taking on the job it’s been eye-opening to see the sheer variety of roles on offer in the industry.”

Edmonds addition is just one of the many ways in which Innovate Freight Talent continues to support government-backed initiative Generation Logistics, a scheme aimed at uniting the logistics industry and nurturing the next generation of talent.

Managing director, Richard Litchfield said: “We’ve been supporting Generation Logistics since we branched into the recruitment sector as a way of encouraging younger people into the industry. We know how fast0paced and ever evolving the logistics industry is, which is why it’s more important than ever that we’re bringing in young talent with new ideas.

“By investing in our team, we’re investing in the sector by committing ourselves to getting the best candidates in the right roles.  Sophie’s appointment will help us to build on our successes in recruitment and continue to support organisations in the logistics sector with their hiring needs. Sophie brings a different perspective to the team, and will take on a dynamic role, involving candidate and business outreach.”
