200 Degrees brews up ‘barista-in-a-box’ concept

Nottingham-headquartered coffee company 200 Degrees has entered the market for premium automated coffee machines with the installation of its first Coffee 2GO unit.

The move comes as 200 Degrees managing director Stephen Fern gears up to be guest speaker at TheBusinessDesk.com’s forthcoming business networking lunch in Nottingham on June 27.

Operating on a rebate model that requires no outlay from businesses upfront, 200 Degrees says it is able to roll the machines out in a variety of locations across the country.

The Coffee 2GO unit is being described as a “barista in a box”, offering quality coffee at the touch of a button. 200 Degrees’ first Coffee 2GO unit was recently unveiled at a Student Roost accommodation block in Nottingham, where students queued through the halls to get their hands on one of the first 200 coffees being given out free.

Will Kenney, commercial director at 200 Degrees, said: “The quality of our offering is what drives us to reach more people. There are so many scenarios where a cup of 200 Degrees coffee can make your day that little bit better – whether you’re working, studying, on the move or relaxing. By providing even more opportunities for people to enjoy our coffee, we’re one step closer to eradicating bad coffee from all walks of life. The machine looks pretty slick too.”

Dwight Heath, senior operations manager at Deakins Place, Student Roost said: “It’s been a great experience working with 200 Degrees to provide their much-loved coffee to almost 2,000 Student Roost residents in Nottingham.

“We’re always looking at ways to expand our services to improve the living experience for our residents, and having a Coffee 2GO unit is the perfect opportunity for our residents to enjoy a speciality coffee while studying or meeting friends for a catch-up in our amenity spaces. The 200 Degrees team installed the unit and trained our team members how to use it free of charge. The response from residents has been nothing but positive and we can’t wait to see them using the Coffee 2GO unit to fuel their day.”

Other venues currently in the running to receive the next 200 Degrees Coffee 2GO machine include hotels, hospitality venues and university campuses..

The new line of business comes as 200 Degrees expands to 21 shops across the UK and over 500 wholesale clients.
