CPMG circles back: returning to Nottingham Hot Property for 2024

Having sponsored Nottingham Hot Property for many years, CPMG is returning yet again for this year’s 20th-anniversary event. Catching up with Nick Gregory, director at CPMG, he told us why the event is so important to the business and what he’s looking forward to most about this year’s show.

How many years have you supported/attended Hot Property?

I’ve attended the event since it began in 2004 and it’s been incredible to see its development over the years.  We’ve been sponsors for several years now and certainly didn’t need our arm-twisting to sponsor again.

Why is Hot Property so important to you? Why did you want to sponsor the event?

The chosen charities are always very deserving and, as a local Nottingham business, we want to support those doing amazing work in our region.

Nottingham Hot Property is a fantastic event, and we are proud to be involved – even when we aren’t performing!

What’s your favourite Hot Property memory or performance from over the years and why?

It’s always a brilliant night and an opportunity to catch up with people away from a work environment. Hot Property provides an opportunity to get the younger members of the industry out and about and experiencing the social side of the sector

There have been many brilliant performances over the years. I really enjoyed the performance of “Danger! High Voltage” by Ash Cowdrey from Chord Consult and Liz Cartwright from Cartwright Communications – it was quite a sight! Matt Hutton (Bond Byran Architects) has been incredible every year he’s performed, but I think my favourite was Harry Stannard’s (Chord Consult) version of “Regulate” – it was superb.

Hot Property has been going now since 2004. What were you doing 20 years ago and can you share a picture from that time of your life?

I had been with CPMG for nearly 10 years by 2004 and was an associate in the business. In terms of projects from that time, a highlight included the delivery of the new Bilborough 6th Form College.

There is a dreadful photograph from the very first CPMG Christmas Classic Cup bowling event, which is still going today.

What are you looking forward to most about Hot Property this year?

I’m excited to see how the event works at its new home. Binks Yard is a fantastic spot and the outdoor setting in the summertime could give the show a whole new impetus. We attended ChordFest hosted by Chord Consult at Binks Yard last summer and that worked really well – the fantastic weather was a help!

CPMG delivered the 1, The Island Quarter building with Sir Robert McAlpine on behalf of Conygar and we were the architects for the band stand that the performers will be using – so it’s a venue close to our hearts!

I never cease to be amazed by the talent on display at these events.  The hard work and dedication committed to making the shows a success is incredible.

I can’t wait to see this year’s performances!
