Insurance broker expands Nottingham team with new hire

Nottingham-based chartered insurance broker Russell Scanlan has expanded its team by hiring Allan Raven as a commercial account handler.
Raven joins the Wellington Circus team, bringing over 37 years of experience in the industry, working with clients ranging from start-ups to large corporations.
His role will primarily focus on Russell Scanlan’s SME offering, handling new business and renewals, with the capability to manage larger commercial accounts as needed.
Raven said: “I’m delighted to join such a distinguished team at Russell Scanlan. When I was offered the opportunity here, I jumped at the chance to join a specialist broker (with such a long 143-year history!) due to its respected name in the industry.
“I’m looking forward to bringing a new outlook to the excellent work that’s already being done, which I believe will be of benefit to both Russell Scanlan and I.”
In June, the company announced the appointment of former sales and marketing director Mike Dickinson as managing director. Former Nottingham insurance institute president Joanne Marriot was also appointed to the board of directors.
Dickinson said: “The business is undergoing a period of exciting change and growth, and to support this, we’re bringing some of the best talent in the region to Russell Scanlan.
“Allan has already proven himself to be an asset to the team. His expertise and deep understanding of the sector is invaluable and will help to drive our business forward as we take on new ventures.”
