Fire detection firm set to spark expansion following financing deal

Obsequio Group, the Leicester provider of fire detection, safety, security and water hygiene solutions, has secured a new senior finance package from Kartesia, a European specialist provider of finance for SMEs.

The investment will boost Obsequio Group’s ambitious buy-and-build strategy, says the firm.

Obsequio currently serves over 3,000 public and private sector customers operating across a wide range of sectors including education, industrials and student accommodation.
The company also has a growing technology offering through its Drax Technology division, offering a range of monitoring and detection technologies.

Since Beech Tree Private Equity invested in Obsequio, the business has strengthened the management team. Beech Tree has supported Obsequio in the acquisition of three additional companies to the group in the past 18 months and with this new funding facility, plan to make another three or four acquisitions over the next 12 months. Beech Tree’s investment has also accelerated the development of Obsequio’s proprietary Drax Technology to enable the full management of compliance around fire and water for building owners and operators.

Simon Cashmore, at Obsequio Group, said: “Since Beech Tree’s investment, we have made really strong progress. The business has not only made a series of complementary acquisitions, but has invested heavily in its people and management to facilitate continued growth. We are incredibly excited to now have this additional firepower to drive further M&A. We already have a pipeline of opportunities that that we hope to secure in the near future but are continuously looking for new complementary businesses to bring into the group”

Ben Cartwright, at Beech Tree Private Equity, added: “This deal will not only enable Obsequio to accelerate its organic growth plans, but will also provide significant additional firepower to pursue other high quality compliance services and complementary technology acquisition targets.

“We have a clear plan to build Obsequio into the leading technology-enabled compliance services provider in the UK and I firmly believe that Kartesia’s support over the coming years will help us to achieve this”
