Rolls-Royce and Vietjet sign TotalCare agreement for 40 Trent 7000 engines

Derby-based Rolls-Royce has signed a TotalCare service agreement with Vietjet for the fleet of 40 Trent 7000 engines that will power 20 Airbus A330neo aircraft.

The engine order was announced at Singapore Airshow in February this year.

TotalCare is designed to provide operational certainty for customers by transferring time on wing and maintenance cost risk back to Rolls-Royce.

Rob Watson, president – civil aerospace, Rolls-Royce, said: “We are delighted to announce this service agreement with Vietjet, as they expand their operation responsibly and sustainably over the coming years. We look forward to supporting their Trent 7000 fleet for many years under our TotalCare service.”

Dinh Viet Phuong, chief executive officer, Vietjet, said: “The combination of modern Trent 7000 engines on the newest generation of Airbus A330neo, supported by premium service TotalCare, will help Vietjet reach new technological heights, significantly enhance the quality of our flights, and increase the reliability and efficiency of our operations. Specifically, the addition of the newest generation, high-efficiency Rolls-Royce engines aligns with Vietjet’s sustainable development strategy, with its ESG goals to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.”
