Multimillion-pound land deal paves way for new housing development

Following a multi-million-pound land deal in Leicestershire, up to 65 homes are set to be built.
Fisher German has sold an 8.3-acre site south of Gaddesby Lane in Rearsby to Allison Homes.
They also achieved a proposed allocation for the site in Charnwood Borough Council’s emerging Local Plan and were retained by the land promoter to advance the site through the Local Plan and prepare the planning application.
The development will include green spaces for current and future residents, featuring a village green, a natural play area, and a circular route for pedestrians and cyclists.
Additionally, a 1.5-acre orchard and wildflower meadow will be planted in the southeast of the site.
Further benefits under Section 106 agreements include contributions to youth activities, sports facilities and allotments in Rearsby.
Ben Marshalsay, head of development at Fisher German said: “We are delighted to have completed this sale to Allison Homes after a competitive process on behalf of our client. We have been advising our client on their land portfolio for more than 40 years, and this sale shows the expertise across our teams, from the initial work with Clarendon Land & Development to promote the land, our planning team securing permission in March, and finally back to our development team marketing the site and agreeing a sale.
“Allison Homes are set to bring much-needed housing to this part of Leicestershire, and the affordable housing mix means it will be easier for people to get on the property ladder in Rearsby.”
