Derbyshire luxury villa business bought by London counterpart
A Derbyshire-based company specialising in high-end accommodation has been acquired by a firm in the villa rental industry.
Menorca Private Owners (MPO), founded in 2003 by Paul and Jane Perera, has been bought by London-based Oliver’s Travels. MPO is known for offering luxury properties in Menorca.
The acquisition adds 32 villas to Oliver’s Travels’ existing portfolio of 127 properties on the island and follows Oliver’s Travels’ recent acquisition of Homes and Provence in July 2024.
Managing director of MPO, Paul Perera, said: “I’m excited by the opportunity to grow the business and continue to be part of the MPO family. I know I speak for the entire team that the business has been left in great hands and will continue to deliver the personal service our owners and travelling clients know us for.”
The deal was supported by tax structuring and deal advice from Adam Rollason and Darren Hodson from PKF Smith Cooper.
Rollason said: “We are delighted to have been able to assist the Perera family on this transaction. Paul, Jane and Peter have built a great business, and I do not doubt that the team at Oliver’s Travels will have further success as they look to expand their market share across the Balearic Islands.”
Darren Hodson, corporate finance partner, said: “It has been a pleasure working with the shareholders of MPO on this transaction. We wish them all the best in their future endeavours.”
