Joe Anderson has 10 years’ experience in working at a top-10 accountancy firm and supporting owner-managed businesses.

PKF Smith Cooper has been pushing forward with team expansion plans throughout 2024, with Anderson being the fifth new addition to the corporate finance division this year. In April, the firm welcomed a new corporate finance partner, Claire Spencer, to lead the East Midlands team and support head of corporate finance Darren Hodson in building PKF’s presence in the Midlands.

Anderson said: “I am pleased to be taking the next step in my career and joining the team at PKF Smith Cooper. The firm has a strong presence in the Midlands market, as well as international capabilities, which is great for client engagements. I am looking forward to joining the team and helping clients achieve their goals, whether they have exit or growth plans.”

Earl Shilton Building Society has appointed Lee Nicholls as its new business development manager (BDM).

Nicholls has spent the last eight years working across various roles in the financial services industry. His career journey has taken him through customer service positions, mortgage advising, and brokering, culminating in his recent role as a telephone BDM with another building society.

Nicholls said: “The opportunity to work for another mutual organisation that prioritises its members and places common sense at the core of every decision was incredibly appealing to me. What I value most is the chance to work closely with brokers, especially on complex cases, helping them find solutions so they can grow their business alongside ours.”
