Bar operator to create 15 jobs with new Nottingham venue

Bar operator NQ64 has confirmed that it will open in a Nottingham venue – and create 15 jobs at the site on Thurland Street in the city centre.
As we exclusively revealed last week, the retro arcade bar will launch in the former Roxy Ballroom site, with a capacity of 300 and opening hours until 2am daily.
A new drinks menu will debut at NQ64 Nottingham, with highlights including ‘Peach on the Beach’, a twist on the classic; the rum-based ‘Quick Revive’; and the, gin-infused ‘Kirby’.
There will be a private dance mat room (complete with viewing windows for spectators) and an elevated Guitar Hero area.
There’ll also be pinball machines, retro consoles, and NQ64’s original Wall Boy feature.
Matt Robson, director of NQ64, said: “Nottingham, we’re grafting behind the scenes to get ready for you! After heading over for some boozy market research, it’s clear the hospitality scene in Nottingham is on the up. We really want to be part of it and offer a slice of something slightly different. We are fortunate to be taking over a historic venue that has housed a variety of offerings, now it’s our turn to transform the site. The space is vast, which excites me for filling it with one of our biggest selections of arcade machines and neon art creations.”
This is the 12th bar opened by NQ64, with other sites in Leeds, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle and London.
