Persimmon submits plans for 540 homes in Derbyshire

Bolsover development

More than 500 new homes could be coming to Derbyshire as plans have been submitted for a major housing development in Bolsover.

The proposal includes 547 homes on a site earmarked for housing in Bolsover’s Local Plan, with 212 of them forming the next phase of Persimmon’s Castle Walk development near the town centre.

The homes will range from two to four bedrooms and be built to meet new energy efficiency standards, complete with solar panels and EV chargers.

Alongside the housing, the plans feature a 10-acre town park, public open spaces and investment in local infrastructure.

Under section 106, Persimmon has pledged around £3.5m towards a new school, £1.8m for primary and secondary education and £700,000 for the park, plus additional funding for roads and community improvements.

The scheme will also provide serviced land for an extra care facility and a primary school, with a new spine road designed to ease traffic congestion on Welbeck Road.

George Breed, senior land and planning manager at Persimmon Nottingham said: “We are thrilled to be moving forward with our plans for Bolsover North. This development will not only provide much-needed, high-quality sustainable new housing but also fund new infrastructure and local amenities.”
