Almost 30 jobs go at plumbing and pipefitting supplier

Almost 30 jobs have been lost at a supplier of plumbing and pipefitting products in Leicester.
Christopher Lewis and Tyrone Courtman of RSM UK Restructuring Advisory were appointed Joint Administrators of HAC Pipeline Supplies on 21 February.
The company, which had traded for 40 years from its premises in Leicester, supplied other merchants, wholesalers and in-store customers.
The directors took the decision to appoint administrators following a period of trading and cashflow challenges and increasing pressure from creditors. Following the administrators’ appointment, the company’s 27 employees have been made redundant with a small number of staff continuing to assist the administrators.
Lewis said: “Regrettably, the company has been forced to cease trading, with a small number of staff remaining to assist the administrators in managing the closedown and realising the company’s assets for the benefit of the creditors. Our staff and specialist advisors are now supporting redundant employees with claiming their entitlements at this difficult time.”
The company retains a large volume of stock which is available for sale and being managed by the joint administrators appointed agents, Charles Loake at John Pye & Sons.
