Newark-based architecture firm Studio G is formally becoming part of Gusto Group as it transitions to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT).

The firm has worked with Gusto Group for 15 years, initially as an independent partner, and is now joining as a key part of the group’s structure.

Gusto Group is the parent company supporting purpose-led businesses in construction and manufacturing, including Gusto Homes, Gusto Construction, Rototek and now Studio G Architects.

The partnership between Studio G and Gusto Group developed over time, with the firm acting as the group’s in-house design practice.

Steff Wright, chairman and founder at Gusto Group said: “Studio G adds immense value to Gusto Group. Its expertise in designing large housing developments creates a fantastic pipeline opportunity for clients to work with us from the initial concept stage, turning land into fully realised projects.

“Clients not only get input from the architects and the design side, but also commercial input from our development and construction arms, as well as the potential for joint ventures with Gusto Construction.

“Studio G has developed a strong understanding of sustainability through its diverse projects over the years, while also bringing expertise in retirement care homes, commercial, retail, and more. We look forward to its continued enrichment of our team’s knowledge across multiple sectors.”

Alongside this transition, Studio G has also achieved B Corp certification, making it one of the first architecture firms in Nottinghamshire to do so and the 65th in the UK.

Edward Acres, principal architect at Studio G said: “Becoming a certified B Corp has been an important yet natural progression for Studio G.

“Alongside implementing sustainable practices in our design processes, our team dedicates time to projects that benefit a variety of social groups. This includes activities such as mentoring students and supporting both local charities and those further afield.

“We are incredibly proud of the work we have done so far and are in the perfect position to contribute to the growth and delivery of sustainable housing. I cannot wait to be part of this next phase of growth for Studio G.”

Studio G will continue working with third-party clients while officially becoming part of Gusto Group.
