Nottinghamshire housing development to bring 100 jobs to the region

Peter James Homes has kicked off work on the Hemlock Gate development, a 169-home project in Bramcote, Nottinghamshire.
The 22-acre site on Coventry Lane will offer a range of two- to five-bedroom homes, including bungalows, with 30% (51 homes) set aside for affordable housing.
Planning permission was granted in 2023, and ahead of breaking ground in February, the team took steps to ensure ecological considerations were met to protect the local environment.
The development is expected to create 100 jobs across the East Midlands.
Simon Gardiner, managing director of Peter James Homes said: “Situated in our home patch, Hemlock Gate is one of our most important projects. We always strive to create environments that reflect their surroundings and engage the local community, but this development is particularly close to our hearts here at Peter James Homes.
“Hemlock Gate is a rural site and yet within easy distance of local amenities, Nottingham city centre and major road networks. It also has an ancient geological feature just a stone’s throw away and an award-winning park.”
Under section 106, Peter James Homes has also set aside £1.05m for improvements in public transport, roads, education, and local wildlife habitats, ensuring the development benefits both residents and the wider community.
Kerri Bywater, new homes board of management partner at Sequence said: “We are so excited to work with Peter James Homes again. We have a long-standing relationship with this established firm having worked with them on several previous developments over the last 10 years.
“Peter James Homes has an eye for detail and the finesse, workmanship and care shown in their design, build and finish is exceptional.
“Alongside the variety of house types and sizes, quality building materials and the accessibility of the location, these latest homes are going to be stunning.
“Hemlock Gate will come with the usual high-quality finishes associated with a Peter James Homes property, such as Symphony kitchens, Amtico flooring, and Porcelanosa tiling. The development is set to be one of the most sought-after in the area.”
