Housing association secures six-figure funding for green upgrades

Advance Housing and Support has secured £980,000 from the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
The housing association secured the funding through the Warm Homes Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (Wave 3), which will support Advance’s ongoing efforts to upgrade all its homes to at least EPC band C by 2030.
The initiative is part of a wider government programme aimed at helping social housing providers improve energy efficiency and boost Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) ratings.
Leicester-based Advance will match the funding, doubling the investment in energy-saving measures such as insulation, low-carbon heating systems, and upgraded windows and doors.
Julie Layton, chief executive at Advance Housing and Support said: “We are proud of our record of providing good quality homes for customers across the country. This funding will support our ambitions to make sure all our properties end up meeting quality standards for
energy efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing living conditions for customers.”
