Green light for Ocado distribution hub bringing hundreds of jobs to Nottinghamshire

Fairham Business Park

Ocado’s new distribution hub in Nottinghamshire has received approval and is set to create hundreds of jobs in the area.

Rushcliffe Borough Council has granted permission for Ocado to turn one of the new business units at the Fairham development, located between Clifton and Gotham, into a distribution centre.

Planning documents suggest that up to 422 new jobs could be created in total, employing 358 van drivers, 24 marshallers, 17 office staff, and five maintenance workers.

The site will include fuel pumps, docking areas, CCTV, and a vehicle washing facility. It will also feature new fencing.

Rushcliffe Borough Council stated that once landscaping is completed, the development should have minimal impact on the surrounding area.

A spokesperson from Ocado said: “We are pleased that the local council have approved our plans for a new distribution centre as we deliver to even more customers. While work has not yet started, the site will be up and running in the Autumn, bringing with it hundreds of new jobs to the area.”
