Forest fans warned of FA Cup semi-final travel chaos

Train travel between Nottingham and London is set to face major disruption on Sunday 27 April, as engineering works, the London Marathon and thousands of Nottingham Forest fans heading to the FA Cup semi-final all land on the same day.
East Midlands Railway (EMR) will be running a reduced timetable, with only one train per hour between Nottingham and London.
Services are expected to be extremely busy, with long queues, delays, and very limited seating.
The disruption is due to planned engineering work at London St Pancras, which will reduce the number of available platforms. Thameslink trains will be diverted onto high-level platforms, leaving fewer slots for EMR services.
To avoid the busiest times, EMR is urging non-football passengers to travel after 2 pm from Nottingham and before 7 pm from London.
Sunday tickets will also be valid on surrounding days if customers want to avoid the disruption altogether.
East Midlands Railway will operate the following services on 27 April:
-
1 train per hour between London St Pancras International and Sheffield (via Beighton)
-
1 train per hour between London St Pancras International and Nottingham
-
1 train per hour between London St Pancras International and Corby
-
1 train per hour shuttle service between Kettering and Corby
All services are expected to be extremely busy throughout the day.
