Tesco takes over former M&S in high street revamp

Chesterfield’s town centre continues to see renewed activity following confirmation that Tesco will occupy part of the former Marks & Spencer building on High Street. The property at 2–8 High Street has been vacant since M&S closed in November 2022 after decades of trading. ALB Group, the building’s owner, has reconfigured the ground floor into three separate units, with Tesco taking the central 5,000 sq ft space for a new Tesco Express.
