Industry experts warn legislation may not be enough to curb late payment problem
The UK Government has pledged to crack down on the problem of late payments, but some experts are warning that the proposed measures aren't enough to save small businesses.
The latest figures from restructuring and insolvency trade body R3, based on data from Creditsafe, revealed that the number of overdue invoices rose to 17.48 million during the first quarter this year, up 3% on the same period last year, while 1.57 million UK businesses had overdue bills on their books.
