Profits plunge 86% at Leicester manufacturer amid £1m investment drive

Profits have fallen by 86% at Leicester-based Universal Flexible Packaging as the family-owned business pours more than £1m into expanding its operations.

The company recorded pre-tax profits of just £61,000 in the year to December 31, 2025, down from £434,000 a year earlier.

Turnover edged up 2.3% from £13.5m to £13.8m, while average employee numbers increased from 149 to 154.
