Community kitchen calls on businesses for help as it plans for future
A Nottinghamshire community kitchen which delivers more than 50 freshly cooked meals every week is calling on local businesses for financial support.
Radcooks Community Kitchen, based in Radcliffe-on-Trent, is run by volunteers who prepare and deliver meals and desserts to eligible residents every Sunday.
The organisation is now looking for businesses in Radcliffe and the surrounding area to help fund its activities as it begins planning its services and events for the 2027/28 financial year.
Companies are being asked to consider financial donations, sponsorship or providing goods and other resources.
Funding is used to cover costs including commercial kitchen hire, groceries, kitchen and delivery equipment and volunteer training.
Radcooks also organises events designed to bring recipients together, including an annual summer afternoon tea and Christmas party.
The organisation has previously received support from Radcliffe-on-Trent Parish Council, the Co-op Local Community Fund and The National Lottery, alongside donations from businesses and community groups and proceeds from local fundraising events.
Radcooks said contributions of any size could help it maintain its weekly meal deliveries and continue staging events which give recipients an opportunity to meet and socialise.
Businesses and organisations interested in supporting Radcooks Community Kitchen can contact the group at radcookscommunitykitchen@gmail.com.
