Residential parks group snaps up four sites in East Midlands expansion

Sandy Oaks, Nottinghamshire

Serenity Parks has acquired four residential parks, including two in the East Midlands, as the operator continues its expansion across the UK.

The deal includes The Elms, a 65-acre park-home community in Torksey, Lincolnshire, and Sandy Oaks, a 35-acre community in Bestwood, Nottinghamshire.

The two East Midlands sites are joined by Kings Park Village in Essex and Willowbrook Park in West Sussex.

Across the four sites, the acquisition adds more than 1,500 homes to Serenity Parks’ portfolio.

The existing teams at all four parks will remain in place following the deal.

Gary Burns, founder of Serenity Parks, said: “Both The Elms and Sandy Oaks are a great fit for Serenity and an important addition to our growing presence in the East Midlands and across the UK.

“They are well-established sites with strong communities and a culture and approach that align closely with what we are building across the business.

“Just as important are the teams who have made these places what they are. They know the sites, know the residents and have a proven track record of running them well.

“We’re very pleased they will remain in place as part of the next chapter.

“This acquisition is another important milestone in the growth of Serenity Parks and gives us further scale as we continue to raise the bar for what people can expect from the residential parks sector.”

The acquisition also sees Rob Turner appointed chief operating officer of Serenity Parks.

Turner has more than 29 years’ experience across the leisure, hospitality and residential parks sectors and has previously worked closely with the four acquired sites.

He said: “I’ve worked closely with these sites and the teams for a number of years, so I know what makes them work well and what matters to the people who live here.

“I’m really pleased to be taking on this role and to be able to bring that knowledge into Serenity, while playing my part in the continued growth of the business on the national stage.”

Serenity said it remains active in the market as it looks for further acquisition opportunities across the East Midlands and elsewhere in the UK.
