Skip hire operator receives suspended sentence over waste site fire
A skip hire operator has been handed a suspended prison sentence after admitting a series of waste management offences at a Rutland facility, where unsafe storage contributed to conditions surrounding a major fire.
Paul Sellars, 65, of Wheatsheaf Lane, Greetham, was sentenced at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Thursday after admitting offences committed at the Wood Lane site between October 2023 and August 2024.
He received a 14-week prison sentence, suspended for two years, and was disqualified from working in the waste sector ...
