Couple add to care home portfolio

A husband and wife team have bought their second care home in Nottingham, less than two years since buying their first in the city.
The duo, who are originally from London, moved to Nottingham in July 2014 having purchased Beeston Lodge Nursing Home. Their latest acquisition, St Augustine’s Court Care Home, is just a short distance away in St Ann’s. The new home offers both nursing and residential care for up to 40 residents, and the couple plan to enhance the facilities further.
Visnoo Chengun qualified as a nurse over 20 years ago, and has previously managed a number of large-scale care home operations in London. Chengun said: “It was always our dream to open our own home so to now have two is amazing. This allows us to determine the high level of care we want to offer our residents. We are very excited about this further opportunity and look forward to being able to offer care for more residents across the city.”
Funding for the deal was provided by Barclays. James Rutter, relationship director, said: “Visnoo and his wife Roni are very experienced in the healthcare sector. Being able to support the couple with their second purchase is very pleasing and I wish them continued success as the business expands.”
