Edmond Shipway raises glass to Everards contract

Construction consultancy Edmond Shipway has been appointed as cost consultant, employers’ agent, CDM coordinator and mechanical & electrical (M&E) consultant on Blaby based brewer and retailer, Everards’, new £30m headquarters.

Known as Everards Meadows, the development will sit on land between Soar Valley Way and the county police headquarters at Enderby and will form part of a wider programme of regeneration in the area. Works will involve the building of a new brewery as well as office space which will house Everards’ pub estate and sponsorship team. Everards is also building a 30,000sqft warehouse and distribution centre at Optimus Point, Leicester.

The brewery will also open its doors to visitors, with viewing platforms from which it will be possible to watch beer production, experience tasting in purpose made sampling rooms and utilise new conferencing facilities. The plans also encompass a cafe bar, restaurant and state-of-the-art cycling centre. New links will be created to the city’s existing cycle-ways and a dressed green will offer a picnic area and family space.

Daman Ranby, Edmond Shipway’s director in charge of M&E on the scheme who is based in the firm’s Nottingham office, said; ‘I am delighted to be able to announce our involvement in this exciting project. Everards Meadows will not only act as an exceptional headquarters, it will also provide a real boost to the local economy through its visitor centre and restaurant while acting as the catalyst for further regeneration across the region.”

Pending planning agreement in the next couple of months, the brewery could be open by summer 2017.
