Future Factory set to open… tomorrow

Nottingham Trent University’s new Future Factory Research and Consultancy Centre will officially open for business following a launch event on Tuesday 19 April 2016.

The new facility brings innovative research, multidisciplinary expertise and state-of-the-art equipment together to form one creative environment. It has been created following a £250,000 refurbishment within the Maudslay building on its city site.

Peter Ramsay-Dawber, acting dean of the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment, said: “The Future Factory Research and Consultancy Centre provides the university with a dedicated world-class, life-changing research and development facility.

“The launch event provides businesses with an interest in smart design, manufacturing, or innovative technology with an opportunity to meet our experts, learn about this facility, and find out how they can work with the university.

“One of the aims of our ‘Creating the University of the Future’ strategy is ‘Valuing Ideas’ and the university’s investment in this exciting new centre will help us achieve this ambition through our research excellence and the development of the next generation of researchers.

“We are already working in partnership with major organisations such as the multinational food and drink company, PepsiCo, and Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust, and we are looking forward to working with many more businesses in the future.”
